Voice Actor Report: Rie Kugimiya 釘宮 理恵

Voice Actor Rie Kugimiya is known best for her "tsundere" roles.

Rie Kugimiya is always the first voice actor that comes to my mind when I think of tsundere characters.

If you don't know what tsundere is, it is basically type of a person who is not very honest with her feelings and usually say the opposite of what she (or he ew) tries to express.

She tends to play roles of young boys, girls and tsundere characters.

The roles she is most famous for is

Louis from Zero no Tsukaima

Shana from Shakugan no Shana

Nagi from Hayate no Gotoku!(this is from the third season and drawing looks different every season because the anime company kept on changing)

Taiga from Toradora

 Aria from Hidan no Aria

so until here is some of her tsundere characters but these are most popular ones I know.
From here its some of different characters she played and I would've never guessed.

Hasta from Haiyore Nyaruko san (this is a fucking dude by the way)

Rise from Persona 4

and finally
Alphonse from FMA series which I never realized.

She didn't play a ridiculous amount of roles but 90 percent of her major roles were so popular.

But since so many of the series has ended, she hasn't been able to come out with another spectacular role lately. I really hope she comes out with another great role that will please the fans.

Personal life story/News

As great and successful of a voice actor she is, she did have lots of trouble and stress to get through where she is currently standing.

She wanted to be voice actor since high school but her parents weren't happy about that. Her house was so strict on animes and manga so she wasn't even able to tell her father that she wanted to be a voice actor. Later her father found out and got into a big fight that caused a very cold situation between the two. Rie didn't give up, and moved to Tokyo(she is not from Tokyo) but the expensive shit in Tokyo as well as the fact that she got sick often was a big trouble she had to get through.
They say the extremely skinny body she currently has is from these debut years.

In the 2000s she gets her regular role and got quite an attention as a debut rookie.
(later her father became a huge supporter of Rie Kugimiya to the point where he starts giving advices)

News

Rie Kugimiya has one of the most maniac fans, nicknamed as "kugimiya virus"

When she visited Taiwan for a fan meeting, it was reported there were fans like zombies infected by the "kugimiya virus" collapsing to the floor.

something like that maybe. (second thought, nothing like this, much more creepy im guessing)

She recently turned 34, unmarried and no kids, That has been her worries lately, after all, everyone has a life and it is her thing to decide.

I personally think she has done a great job in her career as a voice actor and I believe there is more to come to stagger us fans.

Thanks so much for reading, and more stuff to come.

Anime Review: Guilty Crown

I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in a week or so. I'm back in America now, I was packing and getting ready to go back to school.

Guilty Crown is an anime I've been watching for 3 fricking weeks now, which is the longest I've ever taken in watching anime.
Anyways I've finished it finally today.

Warning: There are some heavy spoilers so read at your own risk.

First of all, since this anime took me 3 weeks to watch so my memory in some parts are very blurry.

Let me explain the basic story.

The anime takes place in the year 2039 in Tokyo. In the year 2029 December 25th, a virus called an "Apocalypse Virus" strikes Japan and the whole country falls into chaos. Of course not everyone is infected. They call this the lost Christmas. The Japanese government cannot clean this mess up, and Japan gets governed by a 3rd party organization called "GHQ".

This is the what happens to person with the virus.

Shu Ooma, In the year 2039, happens to meets Yuzunori Inori, a popular singer. She happens to be a part of Anti GHQ/resistance group called "Shougisha(I have no idea what it is called in English)" Shougisha's main objective is to free Japan from GHQ and fight against GHQ.
He meets Gai Tsutsugami, the leader of Shougisha.

Shu gets an amazing power, joins Shougisha and fight against GHQ.
This power is an ability to take out an object, usually a weapon from people. This object is called Boid(I'm spelling it right hopefully because I don't watch with subtitles.)

Cast
One thing I found really cool and interesting is that

These to combos right here(In the anime these two are friends(?) and a popular combo from oreimo)

Happens to be
These two right here. Both very different characters indeed but this was quite a topic.

other voice actors include the psycho from
Fate Zero.

And some other very popular voice actors.

News related to this Good and Bad.

With Japan, this anime wasn't popular as it should've been. Even before episode one, viewers so hyped because of the amazing cast and amazing soundtrack.(This aired in end of 2011 and start of 2012, I was still in Japan.)

The big reason the first episode wasn't very popular was because they say it is an exact copy of Code Geass. The funny thing is the story writer is the same person.

The setting they say like fighting to win freedom from GHQ, and an amazing power is so similiar to Code Geass was a huge problem.

I personally haven't watched Code Geass yet but it is on my list.

People say the story is way too fast paced and lots of parts in the story remain unexplained. Lots of parts remain as a question like how did he do, that how the fuck did he get out of that, those kind of questions. Viewers really had to guess those parts alot. Even though lots of them were very obvious what happened.

The story wasn't bad either. it wasn't  amazing but, there were nice twists and interesting plot line. They just took it little too quickly.

Having a special power and saving the world kinda thing isn't very new to the table as well so it didn't stand out that much.

For me,it is amazing the fact that with this cast, with this drawing, and this soundtrack, with almost an A+ level on so many aspects, That only the screenplay directing and little bit fucked up story can bring down this much on the anime.

Of course, the Blu-Rays weren't sold that much. It wasn't bad numbers but for the shit ton of money for all that expensive voice cast, director(he was also the director for Death Note), and so much soundtrack, it was a minus. There were major things that saved them though.
A, they put in 2 episode per Blu-Ray package for a 22 episode anime which meant people had to buy more.
B,The soundtrack was a huge hit and sold quite a number.

My personal thoughts/Best,Sad moments

I personally think this anime was very good. Even though there were some parts not explained, but I do not understand why people were picky.
I do understand why this anime wasn't as popular as it could've been though. People do have different opinions.

Somethings I don't really like was the main character. He does start out like a usual wimp, scared character. I hate characters like that. But I hate even more is he turns so fucking different after Hare, his good friend dies.

She didn't have much of a big part until here. And the next thing I know?

She dies after saving Shu's ass(well shu tried to save hare as well so)

He turns very cold after this. I hate this of him even more. He acts like this for a while until his arms get cut off by revived Gai.

I mean yes, of course, in order for the story to go on and become more interesting, something interesting had to happen. I understand. Just an opinion.

The ending got me so bad. It was very sad ending, Shu tries the save the world by receiving all the virus by himself with Inori but Inori just takes it all herself and dies.

Speaking of these two, Inori,Shu love line wasn't very good. I honestly didn't feel that much love between them. I felt like there should've been more events between those two.

The Apocalypse Virus is gone, the world didn't end. yay. (this is in few years after)

Also, they ended the anime so forcefully. It feels like there are more missing pieces that they should've filled in.

There were very heartwarming parts indeed. That really was an important element in the anime I think.
Inori of course was a popular singer so she still remains as a memory.

The moment I thought wow Inori is gone and she is remembered, where is Hare?
Her name was written on the birthday cake. She's gone but still remembered.

                                            They all meet like this.

                                           And of course Shu,

I personally don't mind sad endings these days because I've watched too many happy endings.

Soundtrack
Like I said, The soundtrack was very good. All by supercell

This is the first opening of the anime, My dearest.

 Second Opening Everlasting Guilty Crown.

This is a soundtrack that comes out during action scenes and stuff. I love this song too.

Anyways there's more too check out and thanks so much for reading, tell me if there are some mistakes.

Singer Profile: fripSide

Fripside is a duo debuted in 2002.

They started off not as singing anime soundtracks but J-pops.

Fripside had some complicated history.

They have 2 generations.
The main vocal from the first generation, 2002-2009 Nao left the group.
Then Yoshino Nanjo, the new vocal took place couple months after.

The huge hit comeback they had was from "Only My Railgun" from anime Toaru Majutsu no Railgun. back in 2009. (the second season, Q is airing right now :))

Songs are always taste but I fell in love with this song for a while and was stuck in my head for a long time.

They haven't made that many songs since the second vocal came in, and all the songs were soundtracks for To aru Majutsu no Railgun. (They released the new single for the second opening for Railgun Q airing right now.)

So the rest would be the songs they've put up and I haven't watched that many animes in a while so I will soon and reviews and thoughts will come.

Second op for To aru Railgun in 2009.

Sister's noise. Op for the second season airing right now.

This is an song for an adult visual novel/game for the pc called Hatsuyuki Sakura.
Majority of the anime viewers don't fall in this category but they did a song something other than To aru Railgun which is really rare. Warning: I actually just realized some ecchi cgs in there so watch at your own risk. Surprised not removed yet.

Japan Facts: Trains

As a person who lived in Japan for 6 years, train has always been my main transportation.

In fact, my house never owned a car. Never actually needed one.

Fortunately, my house was close to school so I always walked.
And of course, in animes, there are lots of scenes that take place in the train or a bus.

Personally, living in Japan for 6 years, I've only seen this couple times where people actually have to push you inside. This definitely doesn't happen on a daily basis.

Only time where this might happen is the peak ours of the rush hours, around 6-9am or 5-8 pm.

I cannot drive yet of course so as a student living in America right now, a car is a must have item. I can't go anywhere without people driving me to places. Of course if you live in places like New York City, trains/subways are very good.

The ideal thing I've always imagined was when you meet a friend at the train on your way to school.

This is probably the realistic order of sequence when you use train to go to school or something.

So yeah I did have times where I had to be stuck in a crowded train with people smelling like ass but that was one part of the fun I really miss living in Japan.

Yup here it is in a rush hour.

Damnn this is another fucking level of being crowded.

I was on a trip for couple days so I couldn't post as frequently.

Singer Profile: supercell

Well this time it's actually not a singer.
This person is well known for their producing of the music not singing so majority of the times it's featured by another singer.

They say it is a 11 member band. Well the most popular person from supercell is
Ryo, the songwriter.

Ryo started off writing songs for Hatsune Miku, the vocaloid.
Currently, they're still writing songs not only for Miku but other vocaloids.

This song, one of my favorite by Miku is produced by Ryo from supercell.

Their faces aren't shown for some reason and their logo usually seems to take place instead.

They started off with a video called "melt" in a sharing site in Japan called Niconicodouga.(it's like japanese youtube almost.)

That was a huge hit and they're currently with sony music entertainment,

Their first song with Sony was "kimi ga shiranai monogatari" a fabulous ending song from Bakemongatari.

Never actually knew supercell had a vevo channel. Feels very fresh not being in Anime.

Next anime song I loved so much was the Guilty Crown soundtrack.
Totally loved Guilty Crown, totally in love with their soundtrack as well.

With this, they have a little group called EGOIST. These are a 3 people vocal group and supercell does their song producing.

Opening song from Guilty Crown. My Dearest.

This is the 2nd ending song for Guilty crown. Love the first one but can't find. I could upload it though.

Anyways that has been my little introduction about supercell, So you should check them out.

Voice Actor Profile: Yuuki Kaji 梶 裕貴

There are lots of popular female voice actors out there but male voices usually don't take big parts unless they're the main character.

As you see these days, there aren't many animes where the important or one of the main characters are guys.

It's usually focused on one guy and a shit ton of girls surrounding that one dude.(So harems basically.)

And this guy, Yuuki Kaji has played lots of Harem master roles.

 Yuuki Kaji
170cm
born 1985 September 6th
I personally do like his voice because he really has the main character feel.
He's been in the voice acting industry for around 6 years now.

Here's some of the roles he played.

Ellen from Attack on Titan

No need to say it. It's already amazing.

Isei from high school dxd

If you don't like harems/ecchi,
suggest watching something else.

Haruyuki from Accel World.

This was very good. Definitely one I would suggest.

And this dude from Blue Exorcist.
Fuck Can't remember his name.

Shuu from Guilty Crown.

This was an amazing anime. Action packed, Loving, an overall very good anime.

There is some more but the list is going to get very long. Check him out if you wanna know more.

Singer Profile: ClariS

The soundtrack industry in the Anime is huge.(at least in Japan)
Tons of companies make money from the soundtracks and the cds they sell.

I honestly have lots of anime/game soundtrack singers but I'm introducing one to you today.

ClariS is a duet not actually from Tokyo, from Hokkaido which is the most Northern region in Japan. They're actually high school students that debuted from "irony" OP song of Oreimo.

Maybe I should upload it myself. Couldn't find a good one. So this is irony.

And actually, when they recorded this, they were still in middle school. I think that was part of the reason they remain as the faceless duet. But there was an image released before of their actual faces.

HOLY SHIT THEY ACTUALLY LOOK VERY DIFFERENT. But there is no official released picture.
This is probably fake but I'll just put it up anyway.
It totally remains as a mystery but just hope they'll show up with their faces one day.
I honestly can't give you much but I'll list the songs by them because you should judge them yourself.

ナイショの話 naisho no hanashi from Nisemonogatari.

コネクトconnect from Puella magi Madoka Magika. Never watched but the songs good.

Currently to this point, they have 2 albums out.

Yeah so basically there isn't much but more stuff coming and I suggest checking them out.
